WE NEED YOUR HELP!

For the past 2 years, the Historic Jonesborough Dance Society has been holding its twice monthly Contra Dance at the Historic Jonesborough Visitor’s Center. While this facility has served our needs well, the nearly 30 year old concrete floor lends itself to sore knees and hips. A cushioned hardwood dance floor has been on the top of the wish list and now, through the generosity of Mullican Flooring and Marvin Ashburn, it looks like our hardwood floor will become a reality. Not only will the new floor be a great enhancement for our contra dances, cushioned flooring and acoustics, it will also improve the quality of the visitor’s center.

Even though much of the flooring and labor has been donated, we are still left with $15,000 in costs to cover some additional flooring, underlayment and other materials needed to install the floor. The floor is scheduled to be installed May 26th through June 11th. We now have the challenge of raising $15,000 by the installation date.

Currently, $10,082 has been pledged by our board and several members of our general membership. We need your help in raising the additional $4,918 by May 26th. All donations are tax deductible. Checks can be made payable to the Town of Jonesborough floor fund.

Won’t you please consider making a donation? This is an exciting opportunity to support community dance and we need everyone’s help. If we all work together we can make this happen! Please join us at the April 5th dance in Jonesborough and please bring a contribution.

You can also make a contribution by mail to P.O. Box 651, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
